Help spread the word about National Daylight Appreciation Day so your friends, family and community can celebrate the benefits of daylight, too…
CALENDAR ANNOUNCEMENT:
Celebrate The Longest Day Of Sunlight Outdoors And Indoors On June 21
WHEN:
Sunday, June 21, 2009
WHAT:
National Daylight Appreciation Day is a day to celebrate the sun and the innovative use of daylight. It is also a day of education and awareness leading toward a more energy-efficient planet.
WHY:
The sun is one of our most important natural resources, and many would argue that it is highly undervalued/underappreciated. (When was the last time you thanked the sun?)
Besides basking in the sun outdoors, we must also be grateful for the wonderful benefits of daylighting. What is daylighting you ask? Daylighting is the most cost-effective and beneficial way to light up any interior space without having to use electrical lighting.
Daylighting systems (e.g. windows, skylights, Tubular Daylight Devices, etc.) are not only eco-friendly, but they provide exceptional lighting and have even been proven to boost moral (among many other benefits). By using a renewable resource, daylighting systems are able to harness the suns rays and help us build a sustainable future.
WHO:
Everyone across the nation is encouraged to participate in this celebration and take advantage of the extra hours of daylight on this day. Help us shed light on sustainable practices on National Daylight Appreciation Day and throughout the year.
National Daylight Appreciation Day is sponsored by Solatube International Inc, the leading manufacturer and marketer of Tubular Daylighting Devices (TDDs).
