Sunday, June 21, 2009 (and every June 21) will be a day devoted to the sun and the many benefits of daylighting.
What is daylighting, you ask?
This term refers to the use of natural light to brighten an interior space, as opposed to electric lighting. Not only will it reduce your energy bills and carbon footprint, but studies have proven that daylighting can enhance mental and physical well-being, as well as boost concentration and energy levels.
This year National Daylight Appreciation Day also falls on the summer solstice and Father’s Day, as well, so you and your family will be able to bask in some extra hours of Vitamin D. We hope you will use this day to celebrate daylighting, educate yourself and others and enjoy the sun, indoors and outside.
